SITTING PRETTY

If I can do anything, I will always try to save the chairs, really, I’ve been told I should have a chair store.

As in this case, I sourced this beautiful pair of Art Deco chairs, giving them new life with plush upholstery in the original colour, re-chromed legs, and untouched hardwood armrests.

In keeping with the original design, I sourced a similar fabric, kept the story of the hardwood armrests as is, had the legs chrome plated by a local business who typically chrome’s (along with other finishes) for vintage car enthusiasts.

Upholstery can be a cost-effective route, depending on what you’re comparing it to. It does allow the opportunity of storytelling for a beloved piece of furniture.

Another plus is the ability to customize and the options are endless. For example, we could have sprayed the armrests black, copper plated the legs, and used a heavily graphic velvet.

The finished result is a pair of oh-so-comfortable and stylish historical chairs. The pair sit in front of a window in a client’s family room, perfect for cuddling up with a book.

Do you know that upwards of 85% of new business comes from word-of-mouth?
